Owner & Lead Instructor
Hi, I’m Shelby — founder of Abide Pilates, wife to Grady, mama to two boys, and a firm believer in the power of movement, breath, and grace. Abide was born from a season of learning to slow down, surrender, and let the Lord reform my heart and body — and it’s become so much more than a studio. It's a sanctuary.
From the very first time I stepped onto a reformer, I knew I’d found something special — a practice that was gentle yet powerful, focused yet freeing. As I grew in my own Pilates journey, I felt called to create a space where women could feel strong, supported, and deeply seen. That vision has come to life in Abide: a bright, serene space filled with intentional design, encouraging words, and a community of women showing up for themselves and each other.
I hold certifications in mat and reformer Pilates and human anatomy through the Pilates Instructor Academy, and my teaching style reflects a balance of precision, encouragement, and challenge — always rooted in truth, breath, and grace. My goal isn’t just to lead great classes; it’s to help you leave more connected to your body and spirit than when you arrived.
Here at Abide, we celebrate progress over perfection. We believe in hard work, deep rest, and that strength doesn’t always look like sweat — sometimes it looks like stillness. Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or have years of practice behind you, you’re welcome here — just as you are.
